The class will learn to use the Mac operating systems 10.8 or Mavericks and the iLife applications that come with new Macs: iPhoto, iTunes, Safari, and others. Also learn how to use iCloud to get all your other Apple products (iPad, iPhone ) to communicate. This course offers time each session for individual student's specific problems and questions, especially if you bring your computer to class. This is a hands-on course. 3 D Design( for Fabrication)
Have you ever wanted to make something with computer controlled tools? In this course we will explore some of the many free design software programs that help you to create original files that can be manufactured with machine tools, and by using web-based manufacturing services. Emphasis will be on free software packages, and tools that we have in the classroom, including: 3D printer, vinyl cutter, and the Egg-Bot, which can draw on spheres and eggs, and more. Other manufacturing options include websites that you can submit your file, pay a fee, and have your original design delivered through the mail. Beyond class, you should be able to find resources to continue to develop your design ideas.
