Introduction to Business:
Strategy, Implementation & Execution
What are your business goals? In this course, you will be introduced to business terminology, learn how to write a business plan, present your ideas, and build an internal and external team. In addition, you will learn the steps in organizing a business, the legal structure of a business, and what licensing and permits you will need. Learn from successful business owners who will guide and mentor you throughout the class and beyond.
About the instructors: This course is taught by various members of S.C.O.R.E. [Service Corps of Retired Executives] and overseen by Norm Werthwein. Norm was the Chief Financial Officer [CFO] for Tiffany & CO., Chief Accounting Officer for Avon Products, Inc., and CFO for other privately held and public companies. He is Treasurer for ACE MV and serves on the Boards of both local and national nonprofits. He served two years in the U.S. Army and began his career with a public accounting firm. Norm is a CPA and holds a B.A. in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College.
