One-day, 6-hour CEU Workshop for Licensed Contractors

Class A Commercial Driver’s License MORNING & AFTERNOON sessions

Instructor: Dan Eaton, All Phase Training, Duxbury, MA

Each student will receive 24 hours of training, including a 4 hour refresher the morning of the exam. The 20-hour training will be broken into one 4-hour session per day for one work week (5 days). Training includes: Pre-trip inspection, air brake test, 4 maneuvers on the CDL course that are required to pass the test, and written road test portion. Upon completion of the 20 hours, the student will be ready to take and pass the CDL Class A exam. NOTE: Prerequisites for this course include: 1) Ability to drive a standard transmission on a large commercial vehicle; 2) Ability to back up a trailer; 3) DOT Medical Certificate and; 4) Commercial Learners Permit (CLP). The exam will be held approximately 10 days after the completion of the training at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne. The instructor will drive students to and from the exam site to the boat in Woods Hole.

Hoisting 2A /1C License Prep or CEUs

Earn your license to operate an excavator, backhoe, front-end loader and skid-steer. Class also offers license for operators of forklifts, rough terrain telescopic handlers (Lull), and knucklebooms. Designed to give the applicant all the necessary info to pass the Mass Dept. of Public Safety 2A and 1C hoisting exams.

Students must complete the Mass. Dept. of Public Safety application for exam on their own at least one month before the exam. Registration through the Department of Public Safety is on a first come, first served basis. The exams are held at various locations across the state, with Taunton, MA being the closest to Martha’s Vineyard. Please plan accordingly. Unrestricted Contractors Supervisor License Prep
Instructor: Bill Howland, Construction Supervisor Training 

Prep course covers construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, removal, and demolition involving any activity regulated by the code for: 1) 3500 cubic foot enclosed spaces; 2) One and two family dwellings or any accessory building thereto, irrespective of size; 3) Buildings used for farm purposes and; 4) Retaining walls less than 10 feet in height at all points along the wall as measured from the base of the footing to the top of the wall. This license includes all of the Specialty Licenses. Material required for course: 9th Edition Commercial Code Book, 9th Edition Residential Code Book, IECC Energy Code and Architectural Access Code. Emergency Communications Training Course –
Instructors: Provided by Dukes County, Office of the Sheriff
This 12-week course on emergency communications will train you to become an emergency responder. Students will learn emergency response techniques to exchange data, voice, and video. The first 11 weeks include in-class and field trip experiences.
There will be an online final exam held in class on the 12th week. The final exam includes 121 questions and certifies students with a National Emergency Communications Certificate (NECC).

Successful completion of this course and exam meets state and local requirements for a Person in Charge (PIC) of a food service establishment. It is required students pick books up two weeks prior to the start of class and have read them before the first class. Students are asked to make arrangements with their instructor to pick up course materials.

Fertilizer Applicator Certification Workshop

Pesticide Licensure Workshop, “Integrated Pest Control”

For non-licensed applicators seeking licensure, this 4-hour workshop will prepare you to sit for the Pesticide Applicator (CORE) and Dealer Licensure Test. Participants who are interested in sitting for the exam must register before April 10th, 2019 with the Massachusetts Department of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The exam will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at Cape Cod Upper Cape Tech Regional School, 220 Sandwich Rd in Bourne. Exam times: Private Certification and Commercial Certification Exam begins promptly at 9:00am. Applicator License (core) and Dealer License Exam begins promptly at 12:30pm. For Snow Dates, please call 617-626-1841 for pre-recorded message with exam dates, location, and cancellation information. In the event of bad weather, call after 6:30am the day of the scheduled exam and listen to the message. If the exam has been cancelled, the message will inform you and indicate that you should report on the snow date.
