Celebrate the return of baseball with a lively late-summer online book club moderated by Don Leopold. The book is Bang the Drum Slowly by Mark Harris, 1956.
An irreverent up-and-coming ace pitcher, the narrator’s career takes off while he simultaneously copes with the illness of his friend, a third string catcher. While sad at its core, it’s a beautifully told story of friendship.
- Session 1: Chapters 1-4
- Session 2: Chapters 5-9
- Session 3: Chapters 10-12
- Session 4: Chapter 13-the end
