Sam Hart, MA
Sam has 7 years experience working for nonprofit organizations in New York City and the CIS states (the former USSR), where he has been a program coordinator and workshop training facilitator for human rights groups at the United Nations. Most recently, he has taught English at the Martha’s Vineyard Adult Education Program (MVALP) and at schools in Russia. He holds a MA in East European and Russian Studies from NYU and speaks fluent Russian.
Jennifer started her position at ACE MV in November 2015. She brings to the organization her experience in publishing, writing and wedding planning. She has spent all her summers on Island and has been a year around resident since 1990. Jennifer has raised three children on the island and simply, loves the Vineyard. She is a former Board Member of the Plum Hill School where her two younger children attended. She resides in West Tisbury and enjoys tending her gardens and chickens.
Katy Decker is an adventurer and entrepreneur with a wide-range of business management skills. She is the Founder and Director of TEDxMartha’sVineyard, the annual conference committed to “ideas worth sharing,” and also works at Daybreak for MV Community Services. A native of the Vineyard, she is also a successful business owner, with a restaurant in Mexico she co-owns with her husband. She is currently working toward her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Cape Cod Community College. Having dropped out of high school to travel for 12 years, she is overjoyed to have rediscovered her love for formal education and looks forward to helping other unique learners re-envision how education can help them realize their dreams.
